[su_row][su_column size=”1/2″]What happens when a team of event decorators finds themselves with a bevy of beautiful garden party decorations? Well, they host a garden party, of course!
That’s what happened here recently after we hosted a Master Floral Decorating Class for our staff. We found ourselves with gorgeous floral arrangements, our complete Party Mood inventory at our fingertips, and good company – all the necessary ingredients for a great morning.
Our Garden Party was surprisingly easy to pull off. If you’d like tips on how to create your own, keep reading![/su_column] [su_column size=”1/2″][/su_column][/su_row]
Tip 01. Use Florals Generously
We found ourselves overflowing with bouquets and garlands for our Victoria Garden Party because we’d just spent the morning ‘in class’ with Stephanie Hayes of Les Fleurs, who helped advance our staff’s knowledge of floral design. But I always love incorporating lots of greenery and florals into my wedding and event decor.
And you don’t have to be a ‘professional’ to make your own parties look good. When simple arrangements are paired with the right vases, they can still have quite an impact. And consider weaving bouquets along your table, like we did here, to create a garland-like effect. Don’t be afraid to get creative – flowers are so pretty, you really can’t go wrong!

If you’re intimidated to decorate with flowers, then consider ‘faking it to make it’ with some pretty faux options. Stunning and so lifelike, these aren’t your mother’s fake flowers – and they can really add a professional-looking touch to any summer party.

Tip 02. Fun Table Settings
Garden Party decorations don’t have to be complicated. Having some fun table settings is a really easy way to add fun and whimsy to your picnic. We adorned our lunch table with centerpieces, our new brass candlesticks, some beautiful glassware and pitchers, and gold cutlery.
I am predicting that yellow will start to be used more in weddings next year. So I incorporated lots of yellow into my design to showcase how to use bright yellow in a pretty way.

And our favourite thing about our new Vintage Indiana glassware rental collection? It comes in this beautiful rainbow of colours!
Tip 03. Easy Food
Keep your Garden Party light and breezy by keeping your food light and breezy. We kept our menu as seasonal and simple as possible. Nothing too fancy, our berries and appetizers provided lots of atmosphere, and of course were tasty, too.
Tip 04. Good Company!
Decorate all you want – your event is only going to be as fabulous as the people you invite. Thankfully, we have a great team here at Party Mood, and therefore, we had a great group of women for our morning. Of course, when your garden party decorations are all hand-selected by party planners, it’s going to look good. But thanks to Anna, Courtney, Angie, Hannah, and Stephanie, it was a truly lovely time. Thanks, Ladies!
